The Algerian Consulate General would like to inform you that starting from the 1st June 2023, the new opening hours of Lodging and collection of visa applications, as well as the legalization of the commercial documents, will be from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Tuesday to Friday.   • Tourist visa

    - Two (02) application form duly completed, dated, and signed by the applicant. Applications with missing information will be delayed or rejected.

    - Two (02) recent passport-size photographs to be affixed on each application form. Please write the first and last names of applicants in pencil on the back of the photos.

    - The original passport, valid for at least 06 months and contains at least two (02) blank pages for a visa to be issued.

    - Two (02) sets of copies of all the pages of the passport.

    - Travel insurance is not required for British and Irish citizens (please see travel insurance for more details)

    - Invitation letter "Accommodation certificate" duly certified by the local authorities in Algeria (town hall) bearing the name and address of the person inviting you and their relationship to you or, when applicable, an official invitation with itinerary from a travel agency in Algeria or a confirmation of a hotel booking

    - "Letter of employment" or "evidence of activity or income".

    - For children under 18, a copy of their "birth certificate" is required when applying for a visa, as well as a"Parental Authorisation"

    - Visa fees paid in GB Pound only by cash or postal order when lodged at the Consulate (no cheque, no debit or credit card) and only by postal order made payable to "The Algerian Consulate" when sent by post.

    - Non-British citizens must provide proof of residence in the UK.

    Note: The Consulate reserves the right to ask for additional documents to be provided.

    TRAVEL INSURANCE
   
Travel insurance is not required for British and Irish citizens.
    The travel insurance is mandatory for the citizens of the following countries : 
    Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, F.Y.R. of Macedonia, France, Germany, Greece,        Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania,Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands (The), New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia,                Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Romania.
    The day of insurance is the first day of validity of the visa.

Visa fees:

Visa fees vary according to the visa type, duration of stay, number of entries (single or multiple), and the nationality of the applicant:

- for British passport holders:  all types of visa: 85 GBP, except for work and temporary work visa: 270 GBP, transit visa: 60 GBP

- Irish passport holders residing in the UK: for single entry visa 60 GBP, for multiple entries visa: 100 GBP.

Fees must be paid in GB Pound only.

The visa fees are paid only by cash or postal order when lodged at the Consulate General (no cheque, no debit or credit card) and only by postal order (please write your name at the back) made payable to "The Algerian Consulate General" when sent by post (no cash no cheque otherwise the application will be rejected). Do not send cash by post.

Note: Please note that visa fees are non-refundable if your visa application is denied or canceled.

   
  Lodging of applications:

  Applicants must lodge their applications in person or by couriers at the Consulate General between 9:00 am - 01:00 pm, Tuesday to     Friday(no appointment needed).  Visa applications can also be made by post.

  Since working hours can be adjusted according to the Islamic holidays including Ramadan, please see Opening hours & holidays page for   more details.

  Applicants by post must send a prepaid self-addressed special delivery envelope for returning the passport(s).

  Note: any incomplete application, including the form, will be either rejected if lodged in person at the Consulate General or        returned to the sender if made by post.

  • Processing time:

    The processing time may vary according to the nationality of the applicant and the visa type. However, visas submitted in person are generally issued within 10 working days. For the applications sent by post, the processing time is at least 15 working days.

    During certain periods of the year (summer holidays, New Year's holidays, Ramadhan, Eid celebrations), the processing time may be extended by 5 more working days for each period indicated above. This is due to the high volume of applications being processed.

    The processing of an application may be delayed if prior agreement by Algerian authorities is required.

    The Consulate General reserves the right to request additional documentation from applicants.

    The Consulate General has no express service to process applications merely due to planned travel date, the Consulate General advise also not to buy non-refundable or non-flexible ticket until the visa is issued.

    The responsibility for any financial loss occurred lies with the applicant(s).

    The date of departure does not affect the processing time of the visa.

    For applications sent by post, the processing time starts only when the application is received by our office.

    The Consulate General is not responsible for delays due to postal services. Please take note of the code bar number of your recorded envelope to be able to track your returned mail.
