Consulate General of Algeria in London

Tourist visa

1. Two (02) application forms duly completed, dated and signed by the applicant;
2. Two (02) recent passport size photographs to be affixed on each application form;
3. The original passport valid for at least 06 months + 02 sets of copies of all the pages (even the blank ones);
4. Original + copy of the accommodation certificate duly certified by the local authorities in Algeria precising the name of the person inviting you, their relationship to you and the address where you will be staying during your visit to Algeria or, when applicable, a confirmation of a hotel booking or an official invitation with itinerary from a travel agency in Algeria;
5. For children under 18 a copy of their birth certificate is required when apply for a visa, as well as a Parental Authorisation;
6. Letter of employment or evidence of activity;
7. Travel insurance for European and other citizens listed above in the travel insurance section. Not required for British and Irish citizens;
8. A prepaid self-addressed special delivery envelope for nationals residing in the UK and postal order of £8 for nationals living in Ireland if the application is sent by post;
9. Fees must be paid in GB Pound only, either by cash or postal order (please write your name at the back) made payable to the Consulate of Algeria if the application is sent by mail. Do not send cash by post. Check the list for the fees.

Family visa

1. Two (02) application forms duly completed, dated and signed by the applicant;
2. Two (02) recent passport size photographs to be affixed on each application form;
3. The original passport valid for at least 06 months + 02 sets of copies of all the pages (even the blank ones);
4. For children under 18 a copy of their birth certificate is required when apply for a visa, as well as a Parental Authorisation;
5. If the applicant is a spouse of an algerian citizen s/he should submit a copy of the valid consulate registration card of his/her spouse + a copy of the marriage certificate issued by the register office or a copy of the Algerian family book, if not, the applicant should provide the original + a copy of the accommodation certificate duly certified by the local authorities (town hall) in Algeria (certificat d'hébergement légalisé par l'A.P.C.) including the name of the family member inviting the applicant, their relationship to him and the address where he will be staying during his visit to Algeria;
6. Travel insurance for European and other citizens listed above in the travel insurance section. Not required for British and Irish citizens;
7. A prepaid self-addressed special delivery envelope for nationals residing in the UK and postal order of £8 for nationals living in Ireland if the application is sent by post;

• If the applicant is a spouse of an Algerian citizen, s/he must submit a copy of the valid consular registration card of the spouse + a copy of mariage certificate issued by the register office or a copy of the Algerian family book;
• The spouse of an Algerian citizen must lodge his/her application in person or send by post.

Business visa (short stay)

1. Two (02) application forms duly completed, dated and signed by the applicant;
2. Two (02) recent passport size photographs to be affixed on each application form;
3. The original passport valid for at least 06 months + 02 sets of copies of all the pages (even the blank ones). Those holding more than one passport, please provide them;
4. Letter of the employer in the UK or Ireland stating the position held by the applicant and the purpose of the visit;
5. Evidence of letter of invitation from the sponsoring company or institution in Algeria;
6. A prepaid self-addressed special delivery envelope for nationals residing in the UK and postal order of £8 for nationals living in Ireland if the application is sent by post (processing time: at least 3 weeks. The Consulate is not responsible for delays of postal services);

Work visa

Temporary work visa

4. The original + a copy of the work contract which does not exceed 90 days or provisional work authorisation delivered by the services in charge of employment in Algeria;
5. Letter of the employer in the UK or Ireland stating the position held by the applicant and the purpose of the visit;
6. A certificate issued by the relevant services in which the employer certifies to undertake full financial responsibilities for repatriation of their foreign workers upon completion of their work contract;
7. A prepaid self-addressed special delivery envelope for nationals residing in the UK and postal order of £8 for nationals living in Ireland if the application is sent by post (processing time: at least 3 weeks. The Consulate is not responsible for delays of postal services);

Diplomatic visa

Note: applications to be lodged and collected at the Algerian Embassy, located at 1-3 Riding House Street London W1W 7DR.

4. An assignment letter from the media you work for;
5. When applicable, an invitation letter from your Algerian partner;
6. Photocopy of the card press;
7. List of technical and audiovisual equipment taken by the reporter;
8. Project of coverage activities explaining the motivation of mission, the wishing interview list and a program;
9. Travel insurance for European and other citizens listed above in the travel insurance section. Not required for British and Irish citizens;
10. Applicants may lodge their applications in person at the consulate;

Transit visa

4. A valid visa or required documentation for entry to the country of final destination;
5. A valid ticket for the country of final destination;
6. Evidence of sufficient funds for accommodation during stay in Algeria;
